    Hi all,

Anyone have any information on sorting out the seatbelts? They are slow to retract, the drivers being the worst.

    Thanks
    Dan

Grab some Mr sheen or similar silicone based spray and a clean microfiber cloth.

Pull the seat belt all the way out, spray with Mr sheen and rub it in/clean the belt as you let it retract.

Remember not to do the last few feet to save your clothing

    Or get some alcohol

I had to clean buckle as well because it had some dirt on it and stopped belt retracting properly.

It's been over a year since i cleaned them and they work perfectly fine.

My drivers one is really slow too, often gets caught in the door as a result... Will try some silicone spray and a clean.

Make sure the belt is completely dry before it retracts @Heckler

Is this the sort of stuff I need?

That would be my recommendation - its what I used and it will clean pretty much anything you throw at it. Dilute some of that in some water for an outstanding window cleaner too. @Ichiban introduced me to that stuff

IPA is an awesome cleaner being alcohol based it will leave no residue either and it will get rid of all muck , don't forget to clean the top seal belt anchor where the real muck lies.

Silicone will make the belt move freely but it never removes the muck and you clothes will be left with silicone residue which is quite bad.

Had the same problem on my Civic, and basically any cleaner helps out.
