    hi
    new car, new problems
there is no sound from the front right door speaker.
i have replaced the speaker but still nothing.
so it looks like i need a new head unit...
i found some on e bay and they are about 40-60 quid and i watched some videos on how to replace them and i can do that no problem
the question is will they need to be coded to my car? and is that a dealer job that will probably cost more than the car?
    thanks in advance

Just be careful when pulling the old one out, there is a thin strip of plastic on the centre consul that can easily break when you remove it to get the stereo out. use the right plastic prising tools and go gently.

Ok so I swapped the head unit but still no sound from the speaker. So I pulled the plug out of the head unit and measured the resistance on the right speaker and I got nothing.
I measured the left speaker and that one was showing about 5 ohms.
So it looks like one of the speaker wires is broken.
I will have to run a new pair of wires from the speaker to the head unit.
