I have just picked up a genuine Honda top box and rack for a bargin price.

question for any one who has one is - what kind of hit on fuel economy should i expect on my motor diesel
Never used one but kids growing up and boot not getting any bigger

sound porb about right.. Never used these things before and so long as it stays on the ground will be happy  do these vastly effect stability on motors speeds?

I wouldn't have thought so unless you overloaded it.
They're also normally sloped at the front to aid air flow over the car.
Carried loads of things on roof of car in the past and never noticed a problem.
Brought a kitcar chassis back home 200 miles on the roof of my old cavalier. That got some looks on the M1.
