Top Gear magazine (September 2014) have the current Insight as the second worst car currently on sale.

    1. Chevrolet Cruze
    2. Honda Insight
    3. Fiat Punto Pop 1.2 8valve
    4. Zenvo ST1
    5. Mini Clubman JCW
    6. Mercedes G63
    7. Mitsubishi Mirage
    8. VW Phaeton
    9. Morgan Plus 4
    10. Renault Scenic XMOD
    11. Slang young Turismo
    12. Seat Toledo

There are a couple in the list that I quite like - the Mini and the Morgan. Always thought the Insight looked ok too, but never driven one...

The kindest thing I can say... Hmmm... Technically, it's a good photo. :Frown:

    ^^ Nice colour?

Actually I really do like these...although I accept it is a fine balance between being daring with styling and being foolish!

    It's a bit "Marmite" I guess

I think my view of them was tarnished some years ago. As you say, Marmite.

One thing to remember about Top Gear..... is the car really that bad or is it just their usual prejudice as they are not in the real world and forget the mere plebs will never ever afford to be able to lash around all day in Bugattis, Astons. Ferraris etc. :Violin:

Can't imagine the Insight is that bad.... it's a Honda after all. Probably just Clarkson mouthing off....Again...

Anything Clarkson hates is probably a good car for me...

As for that MINI, yuk! But memories of my Clubman Copper D are tarnished by the activities of the local Stealer's service section... I might still have it otherwise.

If you couldn't turn off Econ mode, I would agree. Thankfully you can, and I'm very happy with mine.

TBH Insight was made in a rush by Honda as the then CEO Takeo Fukui panicked after Lehman brothers triggering the financial meltdown. That car had so many corners cut to get it from paper into production to keep the sales afloat, TBH Top gear is wrong this car is NOT for sale currently you cannot buy it.

Its done its job for those climatic conditions.

This is spot on. That gigantic :tut: always has it in for Jap cars.

I've driven the Insight for a few 1000 miles. And honestly, it ain't that bad at all. Sure, because of this whole concept there are some disadvantages (CVT noise, pure performance, quality 'feeling' because of light weight, etc....).
But it is a Honda, it won't let you down and does what it's supposed to do: bring you from A to B in a very fuel economic way.

Only thing you need to know about cars on Top Gear - any VW is the greatest car ever FACT.

TBF to Top Gear, there was an episode - just the one, mind - where James May picked the 7th Generation Accord as the best mid-sized saloon you could buy, if you were looking at a BMW 3-Series.

Most of the time though, the motoring media are VAG obsessed...:brickwall:

Even my 7 year son concluded that he doesn't like them anymore as they don't like Hondas or any of Japanese cars. He use to watch TG all the time !

Maybe it's just modern top gear with the issue:

I quite like this "review" for the 6th Generation, pretty funny too

The camera angles when they're showing the features are too funny

They do talk a lot of nonsense but that was a good review even though they were taking the p!$$ a bit.

Some stuff they come out with is funny though. Like the anagrams one....

I still can't see how there's a similarity between Clarkson and King :tut: though.......

I forget which comedy show did it, but I vaguely remember the fake news item "apology" about the spelling error in their previous "King :tut:" article

Thought it may have been Not the Nine O'Clock News, but can't find it online...
