Purchased a new HR-V EX I-DTEC June 2016. Since then it has been back to the dealers 4 times due to Sat-Nav failure. Software re-loaded twice, Sat-Nav unit re-installed once and new connection unit fitted. Now works ok. Auto-start system failed three times. New battery sensor fitted, new battery fitted, new engine control module fitted. System worked again for a short time now failed again, has been at the dealership since 23rd October, they say they are taking advice from Honda Technical Department and are now changing various other components but they don't know what is wrong.. I have told the dealer they have until 30th November to fix it completely or I want a replacement car. Anybody have any experience of these problems or any advice? Thank you, Martin28

The HR-V in general isn't the best car Honda have ever built.

How did you get on with this car, was it replaced or do you still have your original HR-V?

Always been less trouble than the Diesel, CVT box it could do with a bit more go on the loud pedal though.

My understanding is that the early ones were built in Mexico but that production was later transferred to Japan. Does anyone know if this is correct please?

Having just ordered / bought a 2019 HR-V ( due to pick up end of month) I was told by salesman that the new ones are made in Japan.

Funnily enough, I was speaking to my local Honda dealer and they informed me that the early ones were made in Mexico and the later ones are built in Japan.
This a Honda main dealer so I would imagine their information is correct.
